Chile UNESCO Tours
Montessori Model UN is pleased to announce it’s UNESCO Educational Tour Program in Chile. We are offering two tour options, a 4-day tour and a 6-day tour. Our tours include visits to UNESCO world heritage sites in Santiago and Valparaiso, breathtaking natural reserves and more! Both tours will start immediately after the Closing Ceremony of the Chile Conference on March 30th.
4- Day Chile UNESCO Tour
From April 30th – May 3rd, 2016
This tour includes:
- 3 nights at The Crown Plaza Hotel in Santiago.
- Breakfast daily.
- One (1) Lunch.
- Sightseeing as per itinerary on board modern air-conditioned motor coaches.
- Services of English speaking local guides.
- Bike tour in Santiago.
- Boat Tour in Valparaiso.
- Entrance fees as per itinerary.
- Porterage fee for one luggage piece per person upon arrival and departure.
Not Included:
Airfare, meals unless specified, optional tours, gratuities, and any other tour or service not mentioned in itinerary.
4-Day Tour Itinerary
Tour Day 1, April 30th (Biking Santiago)
- Pick up from Crown Plaza and transfer to La Bicicleta Verde in Santiago for a half-day Biking tour of Santiago with local English speaking guides. Highlights: Bellavista Neighborhood, La Chascona: Pablo Neruda´s House, Metropolitan Park, Patronato Neighborhood, La Vega Market, Mapocho Station, Central Market, Plaza de Armas, Bellas Artes Museum, Forestal Park.
- Lunch drop- off: Tour guides will drop off groups near or at recommended restaurants.
- Walking excursion to downtown Santiago.
- Visit to Museum Precolombino and Museo Historico Nacional.
- Transfer back to hotel.
- Evening at leisure.
- Overnight location: Santiago
- Meal(s) included: None
Tour Day 2, May 1st (Valparaiso and La Campana National Park)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Depart from Santiago. Enjoy the bus ride towards the Pacific Ocean, passing by the agricultural valleys of Curacavi and Casablanca finally reaching Valparaíso.
- Visit downtown area and its neighboring highlights including the new government house, the Plaza Sotomayor, the Plaza Victoria, the cathedral and the harbor area.
- Boat tour to Valparaíso harbor.
- Continue to La Campana National Park. At the park’s Palmar de Ocoa we will start a hike that take us to a waterfall, following the trail we will observe the full magnificence of the palm grove with trees up to 30m and a thousand years old. With a bit of luck we may see wildcats, skunks, eagles and chinchillas.
- Enjoy your lunch box near the waterfall.
- Return to Santiago.
- Evening at leisure.
- Overnight location: Santiago

Tour Day 3, May 2nd (Santiago- San Cristobal Hill- Dominicos Village)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Pick up from hotel with local English speaking guide to explore the other side of Santiago. We will cross the river to visit Bellavista, the cultural and artistic neighborhood of Santiago.
- Visit to Pueblito Los Dominicos. Los Dominicos began as an artists’ commune supported by the Dominican monastery within which the market resides, in this place of more than 150 workshops you will find the most complete and representative sample of Chilean handcrafts.
- Lunch drop- off: Tour guides will drop off groups near or at recommended restaurants.
- Transfer back to hotel.
- Evening at leisure.
- Overnight location: Santiago

Tour Day 4, May 3rd (Goodbye Chile!)
- Breakfast at hotel
- Hotel Check-out
- Departure transfer from Crowne Plaza Hotel to airport. Only one transfer will be scheduled based on departure time of the largest group. Individual or private group transfers will be available upon request at an additional cost.

Tour Day 5, May 4th (Excursion to Cajon del Maipo)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Depart from Santiago. Enjoy the bus ride along the Maipo river valley.
- Enjoy guided tours of various nature trails, the park’s wildlife rehabilitation center and some free time to enjoy lunch and free use of the parks facilities, such as swimming pools and playgrounds.
