Closing Ceremony: Hearing your Voice at the UN
One of the most moving experiences at a Montessori Model United Nations conference is hearing the voices of the delegates during the closing ceremony.  Each committee selects a Closing Bureau to present to the committee and represent their draft resolutions at the Closing Ceremony. Delegates wishing to apply will give a short speech to the committee about why they should be selected. They can also nominate other delegates.
Their speech should include why they can properly represent the committee’s thinking and process. Â
Delegates then vote on three delegates to represent them as Closing Bureau. The Chair assists them to be prepared to speak at the Closing Ceremony and to accompany the Bureau at the podium.
There is a different Closing Bureau for each resolution.

- Delegate 1:
Summarizes the work of the committee and points of the draft resolution.
(30 seconds)
- Delegate 2:
Announces Sponsors.
(10 seconds)
- Delegate 3:
Announces whether or not the Committee adopts the resolution by consensus or will move
to voting. The decision is announced whether the draft resolution becomes a resolution
(20 seconds).
Since the first year of MMUN, students from age 9-15 have experienced the validity of expressing their voice to help solve world problems. Â
