MMUN Volunteer & Internship Program

MMUN is currently seeking volunteers and interns to assist our Conference Services team on-site at MMUN conference venues. Our Montessori Model UN Program is known for its unique global citizenship curriculum, but it is the actual MMUN conference experience where student delegates take on the roles of Ambassadors and embark on paths of leadership, that leaves an imprint on them forever. Our events are one-of-a-kind, and it takes the dynamic support of many local volunteers and interns to help us make these conferences life-changing experiences for young people.

MMUN Volunteers and Interns (also known as “MMUN angels”) have the opportunity to interact with participants from around the world and serve as role models for youths ages 8 through 15. Volunteers also help us make the MMUN experience welcoming, fun, and remarkable. Donating your time will have a significant impact on the success of every conference!

All positions require submission of a resume, reference checks, and participation in an online video call to understand the applicant’s background and determine the best placement in particular roles. Once accepted into the program, details will be confirmed in writing, and then the individual will participate in a group video online training session about one week prior to the event, plus one to two days of team-building, on-site training and set-up just prior to the actual conference dates.

Who should apply?

MMUN Volunteer & Internship positions usually require training as well as some previous Model UN experience. If you are 17 years old or older and have attended an MMUN Conference or another Model UN Conference at least once as a delegate, chaperone or observer, you are eligible to apply for a volunteering position with MMUN. Adults with a background working with students or helping with other types of conference events are also encouraged to apply if they have specific skills to offer.
